The Right Stuff

Glavey-Speaking-MBA-ConferenceWith all the chatter lately about the bad and the ugly in the mortgage business, I wanted to concentrate on the good.

We read and hear about predatory lending, subprime loans, fines, penalties and all the challenges faced by mortgage lenders resulting from regulatory changes and CFPB scrutiny. Let’s take a look at something, actually someone, who represents all that’s good in our industry. A guy with all the right stuff.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to come to work here at LoanLogics about two and a half years ago. As a result, I got the opportunity to work with Gerry Glavey. I have known Gerry for many years, our paths having crossed many times throughout our careers. Mine while employed at various mortgage lenders, Gerry’s while serving in various roles for over 37 years at the Philly FHA office.

I have come to know and respect Gerry as a true professional. He is one of the good guys. Knowledgeable, honest, hard-working, diligent, trustworthy, helpful and a great sense of humor, that’s Gerry. If you had the opportunity to work with, or for, Gerry, you are one of the lucky ones. I need not say more, you know what I mean.

No hidden agenda. With Gerry, what you see, or hear, is what you get; a straight forward, honest answer approach. I’m gonna miss our lunches where we discussed everything from Philly sports, politics, family and, of course, the state of the mortgage industry. Maybe, that’s what finally led him to decide to retire (again) and spend time with his grandkids in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. It don’t get any better than that!

Thanks Gerry for your friendship, your counsel, and for everything you did for me, LoanLogics and our clients. I wish you, and your family, only the best. Enjoy your time with your grandchildren. You deserve it.

I’m sure gonna miss you. The industry is going to miss you more…
